The Islands
We enter the
dive site via a crack in the reef. This little tunnel of about 5 meters length
at 2 metres depth is already a little adventure on its own.
We approach the
labyrinth via three little pools of around 5 metres as the coral population
gets wilder.
In the third pool we
take a sharp turn to the right and enter a coral wonderland. For the next 20 to
30 minutes, we roam the labyrinth in serpentines. It only takes a little luck
to meet a huge school of barracudas. The corals are healthy, and as the maximum
depth of this part of the dive is 7 metres, the colours are sparkling.
When we reach the end
of the coral field, we go a bit deeper and swim around the underwater islands.
We turn around at a beautiful coral block, that resembles all the beauty the
Red Sea has to offer.
Very likely that from
this point we get supported by a light current bringing us back towards the
last bit of the dive.
When we passed the
second Island, we move towards a great brain coral that sits in the middle of
the whole dive site. The coral has a heart-shaped cut on top and in this hole
are two anemones living next to each other, both housing the same lucky nemo family.
From there, we
continue our journey to even more coral and end the dive on a high note
