The Islands dive site dahab
NorthThe Island dive site is about 10 minutes from the Circle Divers Dahab centre. It is a very rich dive site with lots of different types of coral reef.
We enter the site through a crack in the reef. This short tunnel, which is around 5 metres long and 2 metres deep, is an adventure in itself. After passing through the labyrinth via three small pools, each around 5 metres long, where the coral becomes increasingly abundant.
In the third pool, we take a sharp right turn and enter a coral wonderland. For the next 20 to 30 minutes, we wind our way through the labyrinth. With a little luck, we might encounter a huge school of barracudas. The corals are healthy and, as this part of the dive has a maximum depth of 7 metres, the colours sparkle.
When we reach the end of the coral field, we swim a little deeper around the underwater islands. We turn around at a stunning coral formation that encapsulates all the beauty of the Red Sea.
It is very likely that, from this point, we will be supported by a light current that will bring us back towards the end of the dive.
